The Scholarship Academy

According to the “Double The Numbers” study commissioned by DC officials, it appears that while 29% of all District high school graduates enroll in college, only 9% of them graduate within five years. In a society where education level is virtually synonymous with economic status, it is no secret that something must be done to level the playing field for our youth.

The Scholarship Academy (TSA) is a comprehensive scholarship assistance program that seeks to encourage low-income and first-generation students to pursue post-secondary education by introducing them to viable scholarship options. Given this dramatic statistic, The Scholarship Academy is committed to supporting the “Double The Numbers Campaign” through our intense scholarship coaching. Our program is unique because instead of focusing solely on application submission, we assist students in identifying opportunities such as youth entrepreneurship, exceptional community service endeavors, and leadership exploration that will make them stand out to scholarship committees.

Our Philosophy

Early preparation and intense personal development are at the heart of The Scholarship Academy’s program initiatives. We believe that ongoing assistance with the financial aid process is necessary. Students deserve an opportunity to fully pursue their educational dreams. This can only be achieved by starting early (9th grade) and focusing on those avenues that will maximize each student’s funding potential. Through The Scholarship Academy’s curriculum-based activities, students build scholarship profiles, diversify their resumes, create a unique community service project, and develop winning essays.
