DO: Our Financial Aid Immersion Events

Our financial aid immersion activities are designed to test students’ knowledge in 3 important financial aid content areas: comprehension of financial aid terms and concepts, analysis of financial aid award letters, and self-efficacy in scholarship eligibility.

During this half-day crash-course version of our curriculum, students will develop their 4-year college funding plan, learn about tailored private scholarship research strategies for and receive competitive writing templates to help them reach their private scholarship goals.

Ideal Participation: 50 students and their families

Length: 4 hours

Students will participate in our dorm-style financial aid escape room where their knowledge on financial aid terms and processes will be put to the ultimate test. Will you be able to escape?

Ideal Participation: 50 students (5 teams of 10)

Length: 30 minutes

The Scholarship Academy’s Financial Aid Quiz Bowl experience is designed to test students’ knowledge in 3 important financial aid content areas: comprehension of financial aid terms and concepts, analysis of financial aid award letters, and self-efficacy in scholarship eligibility. After playing, students will have an increased understanding of the true cost of college

Ideal Participation: 40 students (Juniors/Seniors)

Length: 90 minutes

With our partnership with the United Way of Greater Atlanta’s College Bound Initiative, The Scholarship Academy hosted the “I AM College Bound” Fair. The event, which was supported by Councilman Andre Dickens, The Georgia Student Finance Commission, and Achieve Atlanta, provided access to over $1 million dollars in scholarships to over 200 metro Atlanta students and their families!
